As a mental health nurse practitioner my goal is to help patients achieve their highest level of wellness. I educate patients on diagnosis and evidenced based treatment options. This empowers patients to make decisions about their individualized treatment plan that can include medication and non-medication treatment options. To ensure your health care needs are met collaboration with your primary care provider and other healthcare providers is essential to help you achieve physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
My name is Dr. Kristina M Faimon. I have taught as an adjunct instructor for the past 15 years at various colleges in the world. I am a full time professor in the Masters of Counseling program at Bellevue University. I have worked in private practice, hospice, and EAP counseling. I enjoy working with individuals from a strengths based perspective and empowering them to live their best life.
I am a LICSW with a variety of clinical, teaching, and community work over the past 15 years. I received my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Wyoming in May 2018. I am also certified in the Daring Way, based on the research of Dr. Brene Brown. This past year I also became a certified sports social worker and love working with athletes at all levels. In my free time I enjoy being outside or spending time with my family, with two boys ages 14 and 13.
I use a patient centered holistic approach to treatment. I want you to be involved in your care. There are many different treatment options including medications, different therapies, and other non pharmacological treatment methods. Together we will explore all options and come up with a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs. We discuss long term outcomes and evidenced based information guiding recommended treatments. I will work with you to provide education and self-empowerment so you feel like you have control of your illness, and not the other way around.
With over two decades of experience in healthcare, I understand how challenging it can be to juggle life and maintain your own mental health. I chose a career in mental health to instill hope, promote health and realize potential. I believe that when we enhance mental health, we also improve physical health, familial ties, and general day-to-day functioning. I'm excited to work with you and help you find the success and enjoyment you're looking for. I will work in collaboration with you to support your beliefs and values using both a person-centered therapeutic approach and prescription medicines to achieve your full potential. I hope that your good mental health will support feelings of overall wellness in all facets of your life. I want to give you hope for your future and a brighter tomorrow. I have faith that we can learn and grow together with a treatment plan to restore optimal mental health.
